Episode 7: The Dead (Aired Nov. 20, 2013)

Things just seem to be going downhill. I feel like there are just too many storylines going on and in the six episodes left, they need to wrap that up! At this point, they are all open-ended and it’s annoying.

It begins with some of Kyle’s backstory. It’s almost as if he’s reminiscing though, as when we get back to present day, Franken-Kyle is upset that he has his jerky friends’ body parts. He gets even more upset when Zoe shows up with a gun to kill him, but then she changes her mind and tries to ‘teach’ him to be human again. Of course, he gets frustrated and angry with this.

Next up is some soliloquy by the latest creation from Zoe and Misty – Madison. We can call her the Bride of Franken-Kyle after this episode though. Madison goes on and on about how empty she is inside and she feels nothing now that she was brought back from the dead. Soon, she’s seeking comfort from Franken-Kyle and Zoe eventually walks in on them having sex.

Maybe sex with dead people is better, because that seems to be the theme in this episode, as Fiona sleeps with the Axeman. It’s only after they sleep together that he informs her that he’s been watching her since she was a child in the school and that he’s longed to be with her. This just baffles my mind, because he was essentially a soul trapped in the school, and now he’s a person again? I guess Zoe used a spell to bring him back from the dead. However, that doesn’t make sense because last week, Misty didn’t really want to bring Madison back because ‘too much death’ was set in. So, how after almost 100 years later the Axeman can come back to life? Or maybe Fiona is just THAT powerful that she can not only hear and see the dead, but also have sex with them?

Meanwhile, Cordelia runs into Madison when she ‘sees’ that Fiona is responsible for her death. Cordelia meets with Zoe and vows to destroy Fiona to prevent any more deaths. Zoe then makes a decision to quiet Spalding once and for all, only after she does a weird spell to re-attach his tongue.

And my favorite Queenie seems to feel left out. After a weird late-night snack with Madame LaLaurie, she starts to feel left out from the other witches. She pays Marie Laveau a visit, who then strikes a deal with the human voodoo doll to join her coven instead. The deal involves, of course, LaLaurie. Queenie doesn’t trust Marie, at first, but after learning the truth about the horrible things LaLaurie did in her past, it makes her decision very easy.

Finally, confirming that sex is better with dead people, Zoe decides to explore her sexual side with not only Franken-Kyle, but Madison too. Honestly, I’m tired of Zoe and her weird obsession with Kyle, who she only met that one time. I get that she feels guilty, but come on. She needs to start being a good witch and working on her skills. Her scene with Spalding confirms that she has it in her to get what she wants and does nothing to stop it. So just get rid of Franken-Kyle already. And bringing Madison back was useless too.

I missed Nan, Misty and Franken-Myrtle too in this episode. And what happened to the cute neighbor guy? Nan briefly mentioned him last week, but what happened to him after the zombie attack? And what was the point in bringing his Jesus-loving mother in that one episode? I really think they need to focus on the battle between the two covens, as well as the council. That’s the stuff I want to see!

I sure hope that the two-week break will bring back the best six episodes ever. Yes, I still have hope and investment in this show!
